Rolling Stock Storage!

Rolling Stock Storage!

Harold has watched with some dismay as rolling stock has gradually taken over his Living Room, and then almost totally occupied the Rubber Room in his garage. With the rainy weather earlier this week, it was time to take action. First, one of the upper shelves in the Rubber Room was evacuated of its gear, and two additional shelves added. The original shelf and the two new ones have six thin shims running from front to back, which just happen to be slightly narrower than the space between wheels on G-scale equipment. We don't claim originality for this design, as we shamelessly copied it from the Historic New Orleans Train Garden's configuration of its Roundhouse shelves!

Expansion Room ?

Well, it hardly made a difference! And that doesn't even count the rolling stock staged on the Front Porch Division. Looks like that second shelf will also have to be converted.

Cabinet Space Organized Somewhat

Cabinet Space Organized Somewhat

The good news was the slight easing of space in the Rubber Room allowed thought to cleaning out some junk that never should have been kept. Cotton Mike was kind enough to come up while Harold tossed boxes from the loft. With all empty rolling stock boxes stacked carefully in the rearranged loft, some semblance of order began to appear. Further work is planned for the next cold and or rainy day! Oh, the Living Room is now free of both boxed and "open display" rolling stock.
